In recent weeks drones have been in the news a lot in the Netherlands. Many drones are seen at prisons in the Netherlands. These drones are used to smuggle unwanted items like phones and drugs into the prison.
A lesser known reason for criminals to use drones is the reconnaissance or observation of a location. The drone flies by or near a location regularly to map the behavior and see if there are any patterns which can be used for burglary.
A lesser known threat is the use of drones for espionage. A simple web-search reveals various examples of (cyber) espionage using drones.
