Unica acquires Bavak Security Group

Unica, one of the largest technical service providers in the Netherlands, is acquiring Bavak Security Group from investment firm OxGreenfield. Bavak is a specialist in perimeter security, building security and specific defense security. As a system integrator of security solutions, it focuses on the top segment of business and government. Bavak has clients that operate in vital infrastructure such as data centers, air and sea ports, ministries and utilities. The company operates mainly in the Netherlands and approximately 25% internationally. Through the acquisition, Unica Access & Security broadens its portfolio and strengthens its market position. Bavak Security Group, based in Noordwijk (NL), has more than 80 employees and achieved revenues of € 20 million last year.

Addition to Unica activities

Bavak Security Group becomes part of the Unica Access & Security cluster, in which all services related to access and security are bundled. The acquisition is a further step for the cluster to offer clients the most complete portfolio possible. In this way, Unica responds to the increasing need among clients to implement safety issues as integrally as possible.

The Access & Security cluster also includes the companies EAL (security management and access control), Nsecure (market leader in the field of access and identity management in high-end security environments) and Unica Smart Security (management and maintenance of integral access and security solutions). Unica Special Security Projects, which focuses on security installations at locations with the highest security level, is also included.

Strengthening competitive position of Bavak

As part of the Unica organization, Bavak strives to offer a broader service to its customers. Sharing specialist knowledge will result in joint growth opportunities. The integration of cloud services and knowledge of remote services from Unica Access & Security offers new possibilities.

Management of Bavak Security Group will remain associated with the company, which continues to operate under its current name and location in Noordwijk.

Acquisition strategy

Unica expects to make several acquisitions per year in the coming years. Targeted acquisitions are part of the growth strategy for each of the nine business clusters that make up the Unica network. In addition to strengthening the specialized knowledge domains, the acquisition agenda also focuses on expanding the current national branch network to strengthen the regional presence.
