Prevent Malfunctions - Winter Tips for Your Installation

It's winter in the Netherlands, and with the expected low temperatures, it's important to properly maintain your security installation. Here are practical tips to ensure your systems continue to function optimally:

Speedgates

  • Keep the surroundings and gutters as ice-free as possible.
  • Ensure the photocells are free of snow and ice; they need to 'see' each other.
  • Make sure safety edges remain free of ice and snow.
  • Check that drainage is not frozen, so meltwater can drain properly.

Bollards and Roadblockers

  • Ensure drainage and submersible pumps can function properly.
  • Check that the heating in the bollard/blocker and foundation is active.
  • Prevent freezing by regularly moving the installation up and down.
  • Remove ice buildup at the bottom of the bollard/blocker to ensure full operation.

Boom Barriers

  • Remove ice formation on or in the barrier arm to prevent extra weight or falling ice.
  • With these preventive actions, you can avoid malfunctions and keep your installation reliable this winter.
