When a vehicle drives over the under-vehicle inspection system, a precise scan of the vehicle's underside is created. The scanned images are immediately displayed on an external workstation, allowing the operator to inspect them in real-time or store them for later use. Through various image processing options, the operator can manually add relevant information to the file. The under-vehicle inspection machine is available in a mobile version, which can be relocated quickly, and as a built-in version embedded in the roadway, depending on the needs.

The UVMS Software and Workstation

With the workstation and software, security personnel have immediate access to all collected vehicle data on the control screen. Additional information can be easily entered manually. The zoom capabilities allow identification of details as small as 5 mm (0.2″), enabling fast and efficient detection and analysis of suspicious objects. All data, both collected and manually entered, are stored in a database under the vehicle's license plate number. For recurring vehicles, the software offers the possibility to compare the current underside image with a previously stored image of the same vehicle, making changes visible within seconds.

Extra 'Add On' for the UVMS System

The UVMS can be supplemented with extra features such as integrated ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) and Driver Face Capture (DFC). The ANPR and DFC are activated by the induction loop of the UVMScan system.

Additionally, a Scene Camera can be optionally installed, which takes a top-view photo of the vehicle as it drives through the inspection area. This solution allows the operator to check the roofs of trucks and other vehicles for contraband and unauthorized persons trying to hide.
