Bavak - cold weather tips

It is winter in the Netherlands.

For the upcoming nights, the lowest temperatures are expected and therefore some tips for using your security system.

Tips for Speedgate and removable Bollards:

  • Make sure that, before driving through, the Speedgate area is free of ice and snow otherwise it will get into the guides and freeze and photocells may be covered.
  • If you have ramp heating, make sure it is functioning properly.
  • If you have a winter package, it is important that the thermostat is in good condition and the heating is on.
  • Make sure that the photocell eyes between and behind the columns are free of snow and ice. The photocells must be able to see each other (see B and C of figure 1)
  • Make sure that the safety buffers are free of snow and ice (see A and D of figure 1)
  • Make sure that the drive unit for the guiding wheels is free of ice and snow (see figure 2)
  • Make sure that the drains are not frozen so that melt water can drain away.

Tips for Boombarriers:

  • Make sure that there is no icing in or on the arm of the Boombarrier. This will make the arm heavier or it is possible that ice will fall off.
